The Process

Every piece of Hepple furniture, begins in exactly the same way – with a classically constructed hand built frame fashioned in our own workshops by bench trained craftspeople. The finest English Beech hardwood is carefully selected. The kiln-dried hardwood is then cut and shaped glued screwed and dowelled to ensure that lasting strength is built into each and every arch and curve. Only then do our upholsterers set to work.

Hepple upholstery is unique. It is an uncompromising process, which has become an integral part of our reputation for excellence.

Steel coil springs are fixed and hand tied onto a jute webbed base. Natural fillings of horse hair and coir fibre are laid on Hessian and finished with tailors felt and cotton wadding.

The overall comfort of each piece is obviously of paramount importance and because comfort is such an important thing, in addition to our standard cushion filling of feather and down we can offer anything from pure down to foam and feather wraps.
